Lots of life has gone around here lately. Which is really just my way of making an excuse for only writing one post last week. And I realize that no one counts that kind of thing but me. So moving on…
I don’t know if you all follow my Monday posts on the church blog, but if you’ve never read one before, I hope you will read today’s. (Just follow this link to get there.) Because you guys, I’m learning that there is no greater “secret” to the Good Life than prayer.
Maybe that sounds like an overused Christian-y platitude, but y’all. There are just too many times that my heart has been flipped upside down and remarkably changed by God through prayer, that I’m convinced it’s worth far more than a mechanical 30-second thanks before a meal.
So if there’s a thing weighing you down, choking you up, or stressing you out, and you’ve tried every self-help solution out there to no avail…maybe just peak over at my post in The Living Room today. Because let me just say this: I have become a big believer that wearing the skinned knees of a faithful pray-er is far more life-changing and satisfying than to have a limitless shoe budget, or a lifetime’s worth of Target gift cards.
Clearly, I’ve come a long way. And clearly, I’ve never been superficial at all.
